So if you haven't discovered the benefits of moringa tea...well...you're way behind the curve. The moringa tree is one of Africa's amazing gifts to the world. According to everydaymoringa.com - moringa is a natural powerhouse packed with more than 90 nutrients and 45 antioxidants. It has 7 times the Vitamin C of Oranges, 4 Times the Vitamin A of Carrots, 4 Times the Calcium of Milk, 3 Times the Potassium of Bananas and 2 Times the Protein of Yogurt.
Of course, herbal teas make great smoothies. And this recipe was delish and refreshing.
-1 Handful of fresh mint leaves
-A tea bag of pomegranate moringa tea
-A cup of strawberries
-Half a big carrot chopped up into pieces
-Apricot nectar or fresh apricots (1 cup). We used apricot nectar as a substitute as fresh apricots are kind of expensive right now
-1 Pear
-Freshly Grated Coconut Flakes
First things first. Brew the tea. Let it steep for 30 minutes in an 8oz glass or something similar. Adjust according to how strong you like your tea. We mixed all the ingredients together in the blender and then added the mint. Let the mint flavors steep before you blend them into the mixture. Mint infuses a wonderful refreshing taste. You can also let the mixture infuse over night.
Voila. We'll be doing another moringa tea smoothie recipe soon. Love moringa!
