Sweet Strawberries - Smoothie Recipe


Summer is the perfect time to indulge in beautiful strawberries. And if you haven't discovered the joys of smoothies - well you're missing out. You can make all sorts. Some with a milk base, yogurt base, an herbal tea base. Whatever suits you. Smoothies are a great and quick way to incorporate veggies and fruits into your diet.

This Fall, we'll be putting together our first 8-Week Smoothie Recipes Health & Beauty Guide. It's a collection of our favorite recipes. You can use it as a guide and put together your own recipes as you get used to making smoothies on a regular basis.

This smoothie recipe was quick. Feel free to delete or add what you like.

1 1/2 cups of ice
1 1/2 cups of yogurt - we used an Iceland yogurt brand - called Smari - Strawberry yogurt -
Strawberry Smoothie Mix - so you don't have to use a strawberry smoothie prepackaged mix but we had it on hand and why waste it?
1/2 pint of fresh, organic strawberries
1 teaspoon of Camu Camu Powder
1 real peach - local from Texas and truly delish!

Mix all your ingredients and use your blender and blend away.

Smoothies are not the kind of recipes that you have to stick to an exact recipe. Figure out your favorite fruit/veggie combinations and you'll find that they are very easy to incorporate into your regimen. Be sure to check out this website called Strawberryplants.org - they have a list of farms in the US where you can actually go and pick your own strawberries.

Going to visit local farms is an activity more of us need to do...as we're all too disengaged from the land. Food does not come from grocery stores but from the beautiful Earth that God richly blesses to feed us with the most delightful things.
