Fall 2014 Health & Beauty Bootcamp - Introducing Week One

Ok. So Happy New Year everyone! Yeah you ask, it's September. Well, before modern times, most ancient cultures in Africa and the Middle East celebrated the New Year in the harvest season. As most societies were agricultural, it made sense to begin a new season of celebration and contemplation while bringing in the harvest and produce from the prior months of hard work.

Part of reorienting ourselves to living a healthier, more beautiful and happier lifestyle is recalibrating our time. Many of us are always on the go. And it's this artificial sense of time that can bring so much stress. We need to incorporate weekly sabbaths into our lifestyle - times of rest and meditation as well as reorient our body cycles to the cycle of the Earth. Get back in tune.

In the spirit of the New Year - we are going on a 4-Week Health & Beauty Bootcamp to clear our mind and focus on the vision and goals for the next 12 months. In the Hebrew calendar, September and October are very significant spiritually. This season is known as the High Holy Days and includes holidays Rosh Hashana, Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkoth) and Yom Kippur. We're calling this a bootcamp, because we're going to be intense on every level - mind, body and spirit. Get ready!

We tried this in the Spring and well, we didn't quite have it. But this Fall, it's on! We will be posting every week with a summary of what the week's focus is on and then we'll have individual postings on specific items, recipes and detailed information.
