Fall 2014 Beauty & Health Bootcamp - Detox #1 - LEMON WATER

One of the first things that we are doing as part of our bootcamp is a detox. Your body is like a car and every now and then needs to be tuned up and cleaned up in order for all the parts to run correctly.

Lemon Water
Lemon water is a well-known natural tonic that is healthy for you and helps to keep your ph balance in check. We wrote a short article on alkaline water with a recipe we've reposted here. Check out the article here.

Since discovering this alkaline water recipe this Spring, we've found that the lemon water make us feel so clean on the inside, revived and healthier. We sometimes add the Himalayan pink salt and sometimes we don't. Just drinking the lemon water alkaline mix is healthy enough.

We always boil our water whether filtered or not.

Check out this great article on the Health Benefits of Lemons from OrganicFacts.com. Lemons need to be an integral part of your diet. Try to get the lemons from your local farmers if possible. Fresh produce retains its healthiest benefits when it's sourced locally and is organic.

Be sure to make this every week. We usually drink this in the morning or after work. It's a great cleanse.

Here's the Recipe:

1 Pitcher (64 ounces) of clean filtered water (if tap water is all that is available, use that. The cleaner the better)1 Organic Lemon, washed, cut into eighths1 tsp Himalayan Pink Salt (this is optional and will mineralize your Alkaline Water)Directions: Fill pitcher, add in Lemon wedges (do not squeeze!). Then add 1 tsp. Himalayan Pink Salt, cover, and let sit overnight (8-12 hrs.) at room temperature. Wake up and drink 3 glasses first thing for best Alkaline balance in your body.
